The NEW New Canaan Library will include:

  • A children’s room ~triple the size of the one in the current library with new program spaces

  • Children’s garden

  • Teen library and tween cave

  • Mezzanine living room with fireplace

  • Nine new multi-purpose meeting rooms

  • Co-working space

  • A MakerLab for STEAM learning

  • Art lounge

  • Teaching kitchen for culinary demonstrations

  • A one-acre Library Green, public roof garden, and outdoor terraces

  • Business center and café

  • State-of-the-art auditorium with seating for 350
